Preparation & Safety:

Wear gloves when handling the product to protect your hands.
Use 3-ply wipes (fold 4–5 wipes to palm-size and saturate them completely with SHINY-KOTE).

Surface Preparation:

Wash the car thoroughly and ensure it is completely dry before application.
Remove any old wax or polish using a wax remover (CAR PREP).
If CAR PREP is unavailable, wash the vehicle with a polish-free car shampoo.
Apply in moderate weather conditions—avoid humidity, rain, or dust.
An enclosed or shaded area is recommended for optimal results.

Application:

Start with flat surfaces like the hood and roof.
Apply in a consistent motion (right to left or top to bottom).
Do not go over the same area twice once the product is applied.
Ensure the wipe remains fully saturated during the process.

Drying Time:

Do not touch treated areas for at least 12 hours to allow for full curing and gloss development.

Protection:

Use masking tape to cover sensitive areas such as glass edges and rubber seals.
In some cases, surfaces may benefit from light sanding using 3000-grit sandpaper for better adhesion and results.

SHINY-KOTE is a high-gloss, self-leveling coating that can be easily applied by hand to your vehicle. It restores the original shine to thinning clear coat, faded trim, and foggy headlights. SHINY-KOTE adds a long-lasting protective layer that enhances paint depth, prevents rust, and offers UV protection.

Cleaning and preparation are essential before applying SHINY-KOTE. Wash the area thoroughly with water and/or a detailing spray. For optimal results, wipe the surface with a Wax and Grease Remover. Using a Clay Bar is also recommended for deeper prep. Ensure the area is completely dry before applying SHINY-KOTE.

It's important to keep the coated area dry for 24 hours after applying SHINY-KOTE. If rain is expected within that time frame, it's best to apply the product in a well-ventilated garage or indoor space. You can safely hand wash your vehicle 48 hours after application.

The application needs 24 hours to fully cure. Do Not let the area get wet or put anything on

the area for at least 24 hours after application. Once the application is cured, you will have along-lasting coating. Note that the more product you put on, the longer it will take to cure.

SHINY-KOTE is designed for clear coat, not base coat.

The durability of SHINY-KOTE depends on several factors, including wear and tear, environmental conditions, and how well the vehicle is maintained and washed. Applying the product in a thicker layer can create a deeper coating that lasts significantly longer when properly cared for.

We estimate that approximately 100 ml of SHINY-KOTE is needed to coat an average-sized vehicle.

You can hand wash your vehicle 48 hours after applying SHINY-KOTE. However, we strongly recommend avoiding automatic car washes, as they are known to scratch regular clear coats and can similarly damage this coating.

If you miss a spot within the first 2-3 minutes after applying SHINY-KOTE, gently go back over that area with a smooth, full stroke to cover it. Be careful not to over-apply by repeatedly going over the same spot. You have a 2-3 minute window to make adjustments—after that, do not reapply to the same area.

If a significant mistake occurs during application and you need to remove SHINY-KOTE, it's much easier to do so within 15 minutes of applying it. Within that window, scrub the coating with Wax and Grease Remover. Afterward, you can proceed back to Step 2 to reapply SHINY-KOTE properly.

Be sure to apply enough SHINY-KOTE on your applicator towel to maintain a wet edge across the entire panel. Keep the bottle nearby, and if the towel starts to dry during application, add more product to keep it moist for an even finish.

Use light pressure with a flat hand, gliding smoothly from edge to edge. Be sure to maintain a wet edge on your towel throughout the application to ensure an even and consistent finish with SHINY-KOTE.

Ceramic coatings are typically applied to newer cars to make them easier to clean and to prevent dirt from sticking. SHINY-KOTE, on the other hand, is designed to add depth and improve the appearance of older, fading clear coats. You can apply a ceramic coating over SHINY-KOTE after allowing it to cure for 48 hours.

SHINY-KOTE can improve the appearance and add protection to areas with chipping or peeling clear coat. Before applying, we recommend wetting the area to preview the potential result—SHINY-KOTE will give a finish similar to that wet look, but with enhanced gloss and depth.
